Today's Harvest

Please note: with all the rain, the slugs are out in force. Please wash and check your veggies carefully before eating to avoid any unwanted dinner guests!

Full Shares:
3 heads lettuce
6 oz lettuce mix
peas*
2 heads napa cabbage**
bunch radish
bunch collards
bunch scallions
cutting garden (New stuff this week! See below)

Small Shares:
2 heads lettuce
4 oz lettuce mix
peas*
1-2 heads napa cabbage (size dependent)**
bunch radish or daikon radish
bunch kale
cut garden (New stuff this week! See below)

* At the time of this post we are still harvesting peas so don't know yet how much everyone will get. There will be more this week than last. Also, some of you will be getting snap peas, and some of you snow peas. We keep track of this so that everyone gets the variety. Both are eaten with the pod — no need to shell.

** Napa cabbage can be eaten raw in salads and slaws, or sauteed. Please wash carefully as bugs can tuck way down in the heads.

CUTTING GARDEN:
In addition to the herbs you've been cutting, you may now start cutting some sprigs of flowers to make a small bouquet (a small handful). Cilantro is now available: you may take a small bunch (cilantro is cut straight across). You may pinch the basil. This means you can take the first cuts of the plant, snipping down to where there is nice new growth emerging. Over the next few weeks, the snipped plants will bush out and become abundant. Reminder: you may come at any point during the week to visit the cutting garden.
