*The musk melons and watermelons have begun to ripen! Over the course of the next several weeks you'll all be receiving a melon. We harvest the musk melons a little under ripe in order to preserve their quality coming out of the field. A musk melon will tell you it's ripe when the end is a bit soft and you can smell it. If you want to ripen it up, simply place it in a bag on a shady counter and let it sit a day or two.
Watermelons will not ripen on your counter. We test for ripeness in the field by color and sound. Although usually accurate, an unripe watermelon does sometimes get through. If this is the case, please let us know and we'll get you another.

**At the time of this post we are still harvesting beans and are unsure how much you'll be getting

CUTTING GARDEN: You may continue to take large bouquets and large bunches of basil (please take enough basil to make pesto with if you like — the basil is aging quickly so get it while you can). You may take a few of the ripening hot peppers, or the green jalapenos (careful with these — they are very hot, and if broken can get on your fingers, and from there into eyes etc). Please help yourselves to a handful of husk cherries, and small bunches of any herbs.
